Internal recycling allows for streamlined use of recycled polymer content

Flexipol is committed to become a greener, environmentally friendly packaging company. In terms of internal waste, we have the capability to recycle our material in house, to be reused in our production, where appropriate.

Internal plastic scrap currently represents about 10% of our plastic usage. Our goal is to increase the recycling of this scrap from less than 1% used to 7.5% of total plastic used, by 2021. The remaining 2.5% is likely to go to recycling synthetic fuel as we cannot currently re-use it.

But that’s not all we can do. We are striving to explore and develop thinner, stronger materials, re-useable and recyclable materials, end of life waste solutions and partnerships with research establishments to develop new and better materials.

With the Carbon Trust proving that Flexipol’s polythene sack has 36% lower carbon dioxide emissions than the paper equivalent, it’s up to us to do our part for the environment, and make our products and processes more sustainable- not only for our customers, but for our environment too.
